Job Description – Engineering Manager

Zenatix is looking for a passionate and experienced software lead (9-12 years’ experience) for its software team that is developing and managing the end to end IoT stack. The person will be closely working with the CTO who has more than 15 years of experience in designing systems and algorithms running on those systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead diverse development ranging from edge side software to cloud side (both backend and frontend) development and the DevOps of both servers and 1000s of edge gateways
  • Improve upon the existing software services and tools in place to equip them to be scalable to handle 10x the IoT data traffic that Zenatix currently supports
  • Exploit current modularity (together with future enhancements) for future development of new applications that can exploit the developed base technology stack for faster leverage
  • Effective leverage as a lead by both being hands on at some times and working towards making the whole team most effective at other times
  • Set aggressive timelines and work within the team as well as with external teams (hardware/ product) to ensure that timelines are met
  • Improve upon the existing processes around code reviews, reducing code baggage, testing, hiring, documentation etc.
  • Understand and improve upon the tech and overall culture at Zenatix

Key Pointers:

  1. Experience range should be around 9-12 Years.
  2. Educational background – If the candidate is from IIT, then she can be from any discipline; if the candidate is from Tier 2 (NITs/IIITs) then she should be from CS/ECE/IT discipline.
  3. Candidates who have worked (or co-founded) their own start-ups leading the technology as CTO/Co-founder/VP will be preferred.
  4. If the candidate comes from services-based organization then the person should be working at their respective organizations as Sr. Manager/Manager/Director/Sr. Director, should have experience leading the team and should have experience of projects across diverse disciplines.
  5. Strong understanding of web-services with experience in scaling them up at production level. The person should have an experience of leading a cloud product that has scaled up with equivalent yearly  expense on infrastructure to be more than USD 100k+/annum
  6. We can be technology agnostic so long as the candidate is fulfilling above mentioned criteria.

Desired Technology Skillset:

  1. Good understanding of algorithms and data structures along with experience of putting them into practice for gaining code efficiency.
  2. Full stack experience – Python/Django at the backend and Javascript for the frontend
  3. Prior experience of DevOps (CI/CD pipeline; managing containers etc.)
  4. Prior experience of managing at least 10+ member team.
  5. Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
  6. Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision

It is an added bonus for the applicants to have:

  • Prior experience of developing the IoT technology stack
  • Experience of working both on the technology side and the product side
  • Experience of working in both an established company and a startup.

Compensation and location

The position is based in Gurgaon. Compensation will be at par with industry standards.
